A great inspirational book by KBC member Jin Robertson now translated in English

I don´t normally promote books in this forum, but I have to make an exception for this one.

This is the editorial review on Amazon:

Inarguably one of the most profoundly affecting memoirs of the decade, Major Dream: From Immigrant Housemaid to Harvard Ph.D. by Jin Kyu (Suh) Robertson is a major stroke of genius, hard work, and faith. In it there is major drama, major heart, major grit, and a major in the U.S. Army. And if one uses the half a million copies sold in Korea as any indication, it's destined to be a major success. It's destined to inspire, motivate, empower, encourage, entertain, and educate, which seems like an awful lot for one book, but then you haven't met the woman who wrote it. Robertson's experience has been lauded as one of America's greatest success stories. Her success is evidence that people create the lives they want, and there's nothing that can stand in the way of opportunity. It's true that we have no choice at our birth and it's true that we often have no choice as to how we die. But how we live? That's a whole other matter. We have one life. This life and Jin Robertson is proof that it can be the life we want if we're willing to give their best and take a few chances. In seventeen engaging chapters with titles like "An Unwanted Baby Girl in Wollae" and "My First Love Ends: My American Dream Begins," the author uses a flashback approach beginning a flashback approach beginning with her Ph.D. from Harvard, which was a far cry from her beginnings in the U.S. But that's America for you. From factory girl to waitress, Jin came to America alone at age twenty-two as a housemaid with little English, a one-way ticket and $100 to her name. At twenty-eight, Jin, a mother of an infant daughter, joined the U.S. Army as a private to escape an abusive marriage. With determination, imagination, and sheer will, she retired as a U.S. Army major, received a master's then a doctorate-both from Harvard. World, meet Dr. Robertson. World, get ready to dream a major dream-and lead an incredible life. Live the life you are meant to live and have courage to claim what's yours!
