In 2010, I worked for J1 Visa company in the US for 6 months but I have only got wages of 2 months.

Anyone have good thought and solution about how to get the rest of wages (4months) from the company?

Thank you

I am not aloud to use any nasty words on this website but this really sucks for you. Let me ask around if there are any opportunities to solve this problem. Also if there are any US-lawyers among our members, please step forward and do our fellow member a favor!
Thank you for your helping comment!
I just sent a mail to a close US-friend of mine whose friend is an americain lawyer working for a korean law firm in Seoul...hope to hear from them soon.
Oh sure.  thank you for that.  Eun-Shil~
Actually, J1 labor issues seem to be getting stronger attention these days, so that might help your cause. I'm not a lawyer, but from my limited knowledge, first you should file a wage complaint with the state labor board of wherever you were working in the US, unfortunately in many states this filing can be difficult if you are no longer in the country (a fact that many J1 agencies exploit). It's also important to remember that the responsible party for your wages may not have been the company you were working at, but rather a contracted J1 agency. It may take a bit of research on your part (or your attorney if you so choose) to navigate just who you need to be filing the complaint against. As I said, there is some increased attention and new legislation in some states concerning J1 mistreatment, but it may be coming to late to really help you. I hope you can find the answers you need.

Thank you for the detail comment.

Actually, I worked at the J-1 agency company I mentioned. I was in charge of developing j-1 company website and on-line marketing in korea. I was not  j-1 intern.

I should follow your comment for solving the issue.

Hi Dennis - Did you sign any employment, or work/contractor, agreement which had outlined your monthly wages/salary? In other words, do you have any written documents which you may show someone, or submit in a court of law (or 3rd party)?

Yes I did.

I have a document and there are my signature, employer signature and the wages information.

If you are serious about getting paid - in other words, if it means much to you, I would suggest that you should open up a case and file an official complaint (investigation request) against the entity that hired you (J1 agency?) at the local "labor" office / jurisdiction.
