I have been in search for career opportunities within the field of marketing, CRM and online strategy for about 4 months and have been struggling to find recruitment agencies, foreign and Korean, that can help professionals like me who do not currently in reside in Korea, to enter the job market.
Have any of you experienced similar issues in your search for opportunities in Korea? If so, how did you overcome the rather big obstacles for carve out your route to market? And are there any agencies you could recommend?
Thank you for your help in advance.
If anyone would like to connect to me, please feel free to message me :)
the resources are here...good luck with your search
Thanks Dave-an uphill battle indeed ;)
Maharaj - curious, are you conducting your search from abroad or are you in Korea?
From abroad at the moment. I am not a native level English speaker so the easier route to market via ELT is barred to me, despite having lived and worked in London for almost 10 years now.
I am experiencing similar difficulty. I was wondering if you have had any luck finding a job yet? If so, I would really appreciate if you could share the information/links/contacts.
Thank you so much.
Absolutely-let's connect and see what experiences and knowledge we can share to achieve our goals :)
Feel free to add me on LinkedIn and drop me a message.
Hi Maharaj, Hi Konstantin,
I am pretty much in the same situation as both of you (although I am already living in Korea, and don't need to find a sponsorship).
If you want to share some thoughts / my feedback regarding what I am experiencing right now, feel free to contact me via Linkedin or KBC!
Thanks for getting in touch on this thread. I'd be happy to share experiences with you - the main obstacle I am encountering is visa related as I am not physically in the country yet. I have had few positive responses from recruiting agencies and from employers but it alls falls apart at the Visa level.
You are in a much more advantagous position by being in the country-have you worked there prior to your job hunt and what is your visa status?
Connect to me on LinkedIN to keep the conversation flowing :)
Maharaj, assuming you've got 2 years relevant experience in the area you're applying for, shouldn't you be able to get an E7 visa?
I was under the impression that you would need a sponsor for the E7 Visa to Korea?
Yep. Obviously F2s are easier for the hiring companies, but it shouldn't be a dealbreaker. Perhaps I'm being naive in that...
So far most feedback has asked for availability in the country and raised concerns about visa status/application.
It's a tough cookie :)
