If you go to our Expat Life page, you'll find a bunch of English-language websites at the bottom, including a few weblogs that came to mind when building the page last year. However, I'm not a big reader of these blogs and so I'm afraid I probably left out some really good ones.

That's why I asked my associate Don Valiant over at the GyeongGi Province Office in Suweon (yes, Don's the one Governor Moon-Soo Kim mentioned by name in a brief conversation I h... in February. You can look Don up on our GyeongGi Province page here.) if he could help me out with a list of good weblogs.

Here's what I sent him:

"Don, Happy Tuesday to you! You mentioned some Korea-related weblogs that you follow regularly. Other than Marmot’s Hole, could you send me your top few? I’m trying to put together a list. Thanks. Steven"

Ever the gentleman, Don responded promptly:

And a Merry Tuesday to you, Steven! ;)

It's an honor to provide a list of some of the blogs I'm currently following.

Here, in pretty much random order, are my top six (not including KBC, of course):

Hope this helps!

Don

So, having started the dialogue with this, my question to the KBC membership at large is:

If we were to make a list on KBC of the top Korea-focused weblogs (both Korean-language and English-language ones are OK), which weblogs should we include?

I'd like to ask for a little more clarification on your definition of 'Korea-focused' weblogs.  As I run a blog of my own (http://dragondon.net) all my postings since my arrival in Korea in November, have been purely about my adventures here and what I have observed.  Mainly to inform my western friends and family of life here, usually humourously, sometimes irreverently so, but all done in good fun.  The blog will continue to showcase my experiences here and my observations on how things differ (as well the same) in many respects.

If your definition fits in with the above description, the please feel free to add in my blog to your list.

Don - Thanks for mentioning your blog. Sure, that's definitely a Korea-focused site.

The purpose of this discussion is to identify the top few. However, even if yours is relatively undiscovered like mine, keep in mind that whenever you have something you'd like to share with the KBC community, simply Twitter tweet the link with the tag #KBCentral and it will show up within seconds on the KBC front page Open Twitter Thought Stream. I've been doing this with my posts lately and I encourage you (and all the other Korea bloggers) to join in.

Awesome idea Steven!  I'll be adding #KBCentral as one of my default tags!
There was a survey that was done recently that polled the top 30 and then narrowed them down.  I can't find the results at the moment, i'll post it here if i find it.
However not very often updated, this one is interesting for someone able to read French:

Thank you Steven.  I have enjoyed reading a few new blogs I did not know about.   Will start following their updates.

The Gusts of Popular Feeling is new to me. I'll have a read through that one.

On topic of the latest post (http://populargusts.blogspot.com/2011/04/foreign-teacher-busted-for...), some of my friends were surprised to come home to police on their rooftop 2 days after they planted a vegetable garden there.

I'll leave you to figure out what the landlord was thinking based on context

Hi Steven,

There's one I'd like to mention : Seoul sub->urban discovers the city one subway station at a time.

PS: I do at times also read my own excuse for a blog (SeoulVillage.com) ;)

Stephane - And a fine blog it is, too! Be sure to tweet links to your blog posts using the #KBCentral tag; the posts will appear on the KBC front page for everyone to see.
Any more suggestions for our "Top Korea-Focused Blogs" list? Or did Don Valiant almost cover them all in his original email reply to me?
