would you still recommend the grammar book and the series, I mean do you (or someone of your friends/family) still use it? How about the one recommended in the "Lean Korean" topic corner (by Byong)? ... and could you please (not for me, but for the other readers) quickly specify or link the ISBN and the other cornerstones of the publications named by you in this thread? Thanks.

Permalink Reply by Philipp Grunwald on June 24, 2011 at 12:32pm Thanks James, I just ordered the book, I'm really curious!
I'm definitely also of the opinion that such books are needed! With a more holistic and practical approach.
Of course I might still look into purchasing the recommended formal grammar book later on, if needed...

Permalink Reply by Jonathan McClelland on December 16, 2010 at 9:05am I work at a textbook publishing company here in Seoul. Although my company focuses primarily on English, Chinese, and Japanese textbooks, it has also published quite a few Korean books for non-native speakers learning Korean.
Now, as far as I know, there are few Korean for business books on the market. Perhaps if I show my company that there is adequate demand for a series of Korean for business textbooks, then I might be able to persuade them to publish such a series. Not only that, but I think the members of the learning community here can provide their feedback to produce a series of books that are genuinely helpful for Korean language learners. For example, getting opinions about which topics to cover, what type of learning exercises to include, what type of content should be excluded and so forth can help us create a textbook series that people would really want to learn from.
Any thoughts about this?
I personally enjoy 서강대's books -especially their little "grammar primer" that comes with each book in their series.
...their explanations make sense (to me, at least) & I somehow feel motivated to go apply what I've read (i.e.: it's all practical stuff).
