Hi,
I'm planning to take an intensive preparation course before the TOPIK test in July. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations for a good program? The ones I have found so far is only two days of classes per week and I am looking for something more intensive. Anyone who knows?

Thx, but Im in Korea and I am looking for a course in Seoul.
My level is not that high probably level 2 or 3.

Permalink Reply by 조사야 on May 19, 2011 at 3:03am I haven't ever heard of an intensive course specially designed for TOPIK in 서울 (I think there's one in 광주 though), although there are summer/ winter holiday (general korean language) intensives at most universities.
If you have no luck finding a course then I would suggest printing off/ downloading as much TOPIK material from the various help websites and have a korean university student go through it with you for a few hours every day for 3/4만원(much cheaper than a university course would be).
Let me know if you do find any specific courses though~ I could use the help in preparing for the July exams too!

Henrik - I couldn't agree more with Josiah; hiring a college student for four hours per week over a two-year period is what gave me my foundation in Korean.
And I'll also point out another link (provided to me by none other than Josiah himself) - http://www.topikguide.in/. It's in the Other Websites section of the Learn Korean page here: http://www.koreabusinesscentral.com/page/topic-central-learn-korean and might have some more valuable resources for you.
Good luck on the test!
Steven

In my mind planning to take an intensive preparation course before the TOPIK test in month of July too, but I never heard such intensive course running in Seoul. I would be happy if any one who inform me!

I actually do have information about courses (I only saw your request now), I can e-mail it to you!
It's not a "intensive TOPIK" course (I guess there's really none), but there are intensive courses in general. Sometimes they're even labeled as "regular", but usually the maximum amount of hours I encountered per course were 200.
I wanted to publish it here, but as I couldn't manage to fix one Excel issue to make it proper, I didn't yet. I know it's kinda perfectionist, but anyways, the data is still very much useful even at the current date (end of July)!

I'm thinking of taking Korean studies more seriously and got curious about your material, could I ask you to send it for me please? It sounds it can be insightful. (gnakano@gmail.com).
Thank you so much!
Permalink Reply by Philipp Grunwald on October 24, 2011 at 2:11pm Hi Gustavo, I'll try to upload it very soon! Other than that, if you want to study towards the TOPIK, maybe the "Korean for Academic Purposes" (KAP) program of Sogang University Language Institute could be for you! Yet it is only offered in the afternoon, not in the morning or evening!
