Hi Megha, HAHA – I would not even sell Amway products in Korea only for commission as an expat. That “headhunter” is nuts. Tell him no and move on. Not common, not smart and no way will it work. Unless you marry a Korean, get a…

Hi Megha, Thanks for your questions. My first thought is that 35 ~ 50 million KRW is about right for a university graduate with 2 ~ 4 years of experience. It is a big range but you must also remember that they might include housing in that…

I often suspect there's a propaganda factor to it, too. What better way to have reduced electricity consumption during the days when Korean was trying to keep consumer consumption down than to come up with theories like #1 and #2? As you…

To clarify #1, the idea is that apparently you can die by running the fan full-on the face, not just a matter of running it in the room. From what I heard, it apparently creates some kind of differential in the temperature or pressure of the blood…

Hi William. I think you the topic is a little confusing since it combines superstition with negative stereotype. Which are you looking to add to?

In any culture there are certain beliefs that many citizens hold to be true. In western countries we label most of these as “old wives tales.” The same holds true for Korea. Below are just 4 that I know of that have been told to me directly by a Korean or I have read about.Any others you can add to the list? 1. Fan Death - the belief is that if you run a fan in a closed room you will die.2. Death by Air Conditioning – the belief of being frozen to death in a closed room while running the AC.3.…See More

Hi william thanks for the info ^^, Yeah I'm interested in Kpop&Korean Wave issues, so far I just observe about the phenomenon and deliver my thought about it, I'm quite surprised that this issue has already been taken as a subject ^^ which is a good news^^, I'm learning Korean now and I'm very interested in languages and the cultures ^^. I'm planning to go to Korea this nov or jan 2012. And I wonder if you'd like to give me some advice as a non western foreigner to get a job in a multinational company/Korean company?. I'm thinking to start a business on my own but since am very young n lack of experiences so I decided to take 3/4 years to do it and working overseas instead.

Regards
