ABOUT ME

MOT means "word" in French and I happen to be a French author. A perfect alibi for my poor English... but what I write in French is barely more legible.

I love Seoul, write and blog a lot about it (see below), and try to contribute to its fantastic effort as it claims the spot it deserves on the international stage as a member of the Seoul Global Center Business Advisory Committee. In a former life, I majored the ESSEC, worked at the French Embassy in Seoul, survived 3 start-ups and a major multimedia group, became an expert in strategy and innovation...

Aaron, I do appreciate your transparency. SMEs cannot exploit market opportunities (and become "an engine of Schumpeterian creative destruction" - boy that one brought me back to biz school a quarter of century ago!)…

Hello Aaron,   1) as I mentioned there, universal free lunches are simply unfair and not sustainable, and that's the reason why I voted in favor of Oh Se-hoon's motion last year. 2) it's about pragmatism and a permanent fine…

I recently posted about the issue and the political mess in Korea (absence of debate), and I think that the Korean safety net needs to be strengthened, but also that it means more fitness and transparency. And furthermore, it presupposes…

stephanemot replied to Steven S. Bammel's discussion 'New Korea Economic Slice - Dr. Emanuel Pastreich, "The Importance of Women for the Future of Korea”'
Note that Korean women entrepreneurs are traditionally a dominant force in the few sectors where conservatives consider their presence as 'normal' (ie small cap food franchises). Twenty years ago, the only women…

Jang Sung-taek has been in and out of favor under Kim Jong-il, but over the past few years and as Kim Jong-un's chaperone, he seems to have moved closer to China. I don't think KJI fully trusted JST, I don't know how many people…

Remember the recent disastrous monetary reforms up North? They just banned all use of US dollars in North Korea, and this seems the best way to trigger unrests. Suicidal move and timing for Kim Jong-un, who will inevitably pass for…

as expected, polls show that Ahn took a hit vs conservatives in this time of uncertainties. Park Geun-hye gains ground, but I don't think the best message from a model democracy would be to promote another dynasty.

The concept has already been exported to central Asian countries where Korean builders have strongholds and where Korean dramas helped promote it.

IMHO, the best disaster prevention, as far as GWB is concerned, would have been to opt for another POTUS in 2004...sorry but I couldn't resist :)
