Weekly Digest (September 19, 2011) KBC Recyclers and Business Networkers? Don't you love the way Koreans recycle their trash? If that's not environmentally friendly, what is? Check out the trash piles below our apartment building just this mo... 1. Nothing terrible will happen to you... ... if you don't make it out to the one-of-a-kind global business networking event at Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon on October 8. This one's hosted by Gyeonggi Province (yes, the place where business REALLY gets done in Korea) and GAFIC (the folks who represent hundreds of foreign-invested companies in Korea) ...(and KBC, of course.) Yeah, if you're not there, life will go on pretty much as normal for you... even as the rest of your colleagues and associates who did attend the most global business get-together in Korea in 2011 see their business opportunities multiply and their success in Korea explode! That's because, in addition to everyone else at Hwaseong on October 8, they'll have met CEOs and executives at dozens of global companies in Korea who don't nromally attend expat-oriented events (Did anybody say job and business opportunities?) I'll also point out that if you miss today's early-bird deadline, it's not a big deal. It'll only cost W10,000 more tomorrow and we're not going to close the event due to crowding; you'll be able to get in, even at the last minute, because this time around, we've got three entire floors of the Suweon Hwaseong Museum at Hwaseong Fortress, with a dinner buffet catered by a five-start hotel! But why miss the event? And why pay more than you have to when the early-bird registration is still open? You've got until midnight tonight (Korean time) to get it done at W10,000; tomorrow, it costs W20,000/head. 2. Dr. Leonid Petrov Joins the KBC Experts Corner I can hardly believe it but another VVIP has agreed to join our KBC Experts Corner this week and he's already answering questions! Check it out: Ask Dr. Leonid Petrov What's Going on in North Korea In fact, we've got a great group of experts just waiting to answer your questions. Check them all out and ask your questions anytime. ------ It's another busy week ... I've got to find a way to simplify, but not before October 8! Please invite somebody to join you at the Gyeonggi Global Business Networking Event so we can really make this the biggest, baddest business event ever in Korea... Thanks! Steven S. Bammel, Creator

More Important Stuff The Seoul Global Business Support Center is hosting yet another valuable (but FREE!) seminar on September 23 about intellectual property rights. Check it out and sign up! Daniel Genter shares our latest KBC relay interview and shares economic lessons on what Korea can teach Kenya! (I'd like to also thank Wally Nes for interviewing his second relay interviewee!) New KBC Member Colm Kerney and very old KBC Member Dennis Oh introduced themselves. Lukas Beech posted about a senior research director position and Tero Taipale shares about a new project manager position that's come open. Cory Olson asks if Korea is failing at overseas development.
