I am a member of Seoul Advanced Toastmasters in Apgujeong and Roastmasters in Hyehwa.  I am also the webmaster for the Korea Toastmasters Territorual Council (http://www.koreatm.org).  There you can find our 34 chartered clubs and about 10 others that are on the verge of chartering that can also use members.

Some clubs once in a while host debates, which can be quite interesting.  However, Toastmasters is more about  individual speaking, as a well as enhancing your leadership skills through officer roles and events.

this here might be a quite interesting resource to you concerng your job: http://www.fluentin3months.com/how-to-become-a-location-independent-freelance-translator/

Fluent in three months? In Korean? No way... I'd say he's busier selling his Language Hacking Guide than he is at actually making money as a proper translator....

I forwarded your first message to Steven and here were his answers:

2. That's a nifty idea. In fact, I'm going to see if we can get a Meetup.com feed to import into a couple of our relevant pages. Thanks.
3. Nothing I can do about that as that stuff's all controlled at the Ning interface level.

Please forward your other suggestion to him as well:

re: "PPS: You maybe should think about free (cross-)promotion with other Korea-based (English) websites outside of the business area. Because I frankly know a dozen language & leisure website related to Korea, but only now I came up with KBC! ;) There you got a new point #3. ^.^"

Steven Bammel is the founding administrator of KBC & he is the "decision-maker" on stuff like that ^.^
